Our friends children have sets of Magna-tiles as well and they are just as popular in their house as they are in our home. Due to the fact that the Magna-tiles are played with constantly, I believe they are a good value even if the original purchase is expensive. One negative is that the Magna-tiles sets are expensive ($1.50/tile in smaller sets). So Santa brought the 100 Magna-tiles set for Christmas last year.
